2025 Jr Arts, Photography & Crafts

Superintendents:

1. See Exhibitor Rules and Policies, Department 11-24, specifically rule 905, 907, 909, 910 & 911.
2. Entries MUST be in the building by 7:00 pm on the Saturday prior to fair.
3. Pre-Register online!
4. Anyone up to and including 18 years of age may enter.
5. Bring your items to the Jr. Exhibit Building on Friday, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm & Saturday 9:00 am - 7:00 pm.
6. Exhibits must be original of the exhibitor. No numbered painting, copy or trace work permitted. No kits accepted.
7. No article can be entered in more than one class. No exhibitor may make more than one entry in any one classification. A display of paintings or photographs shall be considered as one article. No article previously exhibited at the Bedford County Fair will be accepted in competition.
8. No artwork accepted unless framed and provided with properly affixed wire (no tape) to facilitate hanging. No picture larger than 3 1/2 ft. x 3 1/2 ft.
9. No nudity will be accepted.

Exhibition of Feathers Used for Arts and Crafts. The following standards and requirements apply to the exhibition of feathers used for arts and crafts at a Venue or Fair:

(a) Feathers, shafts, and down from poultry and non-poultry source flocks shall be sourced and packaged in the United States or meet USDA import requirements.

(b) Feathers, shafts, and down from poultry and non-poultry source flocks shall be washed or steam-treated and dried before packaging.

(c) Records or packaging evidencing the feathers, shaft and down from poultry and non-poultry source flocks shall meet the criteria established in sections (a) and (b) above shall be made available to the Department and the Venue or Fair organizers upon request.

Department 11 - Section 19V - Youth Fair Poster Contest - Ages 8-18

THEME: “Powering Pennsylvania”

1. Only one poster may be submitted per exhibitor, per age group. There will be three state competitions: ages 8-11, 12-14, and 15-18. Exhibitors must be in one of these age groups as of June 1 of the current fair season to qualify.

2. The poster size must be either 14 x 22 inches or 14 ½ x 22 inches. Other sizes will not be accepted for judging at the state level.

3. This year’s theme is “Powering Pennsylvania”. Contestants will be asked to submit artwork that showcases Pennsylvania agriculture and its role in powering the state's economy. Exhibitors using other themes will be disqualified at the state level.

4. One winning poster from each age group will be submitted to the state level for additional judging and cash prizes.
